The building offers an amazing view on an air platform located on a small glass observatory on its 66 floor (just under its spine). Even though this view is one of the most spectacular things that this building has to offer, it is sadly closed to the public until 2017 due to structural renovations.
Nowadays Luxembourg-based Eastbridge Group (operator of premium residential buildings) own the 70 Pine Street and, as it has been mentioned before, the building is been reconverted into residential apartments with 612 residential units and 132 extended-stay apartments that will be open to the public in 2017.

This might not be the most interesting building out of the whole city, but it's unique gothic style and its location definitely make the 70 Pine street a building worth visiting.
The American international Building, also known as 70 Pine Street, 60 Wall Tower or the Cities Service Building, has been for many years the headquarters of the America International Group, but in 2011 it was announced that'll be reconverted into a luxury building with residential purposes.

This building was originally made by Clinton & Russell, a well-known architecture firm of New York, and was built for the Cities Service Company until it moved its headquarters to Oklahoma and sold the building to the American International Group in 1976. The building was constructed during the skyscraper race and so it has a gothic style (something that was very popular at the time) and when completed, it was the third tallest building out of the whole city. It is also worth mentioning that after the 9/11 attacks it became the tallest building in Lower Manhattan until it was surpassed by the new World Trade Center. By 2015 it was the eighth tallest building in New York City, and the 103rd tallest building in the world.
